Breakfast is an important meal, one many of us (ah me) skip. And yet, it provides the body and brain with fuel. Keep in mind that we sleep for 6-8 hours and during that time our bodies essential fast while resting. Therefore, if you don’t eat breakfast then you’re starting the day running on empty. You know your car needs fuel and so do you.
It is best to eat your morning meal within two hours of waking and overall it should provide 25% of your daily calorie intake.
There is a ton of research that proves having breakfast is important for kids in order to aid their ability to learn, so that would be true for adults too. Basically, breakfast restores glucose and carbohydrates needed to feed our busy brains. Long term, this meal can help reduce obesity, lessen high blood pressure, and with help heart disease and diabetes.
A balanced breakfast sets the tone for your day and lessens the chance of binge eating later. So, if you’re looking for easy ways to watch your weight, breakfast is the place to start.
The options are endless of what to eat for breakfast. Personally, I like to have a good old fashion bacon and egg breaky. I usually only indulge in the farmer’s plate when I am away on holidays, or at a restaurant. In fact, going out for breakfast is one of my favourite things to do.
What you enjoy is not as important as making the effort to eat. Why not make it a smooth start to the day.
